MoneyThumb Online for QuickBooks costs $24.95 a month for 5 conversions, $49.95 for 20 or $99.95 for 60. Yearly plans run from $124.95 for 25 conversions to $799.95 for 800, and auto-refill packs go up to $3,999.95 for 6,000. The desktop 2qbo Convert Pro is no longer priced on MoneyThumb's QuickBooks pages, so the cloud plans are what you can actually buy today.

Every MoneyThumb price on this page was read from the product variations on moneythumb.com/shop/convert2qbo-online and the QuickBooks converter page, in US dollars before sales tax. License terms and trial limits come from MoneyThumb's own FAQ.

People searching for MoneyThumb pricing usually land on a page about bank statement fraud detection for lenders, because moneythumb.com/pricing now sells its underwriting API ("Starting at $599.95 per year"). That is a different product. If you want transactions in QuickBooks, the price you need sits on the MoneyThumb Online for QuickBooks product, which is the cloud successor to the 2qbo Convert desktop line.

The cloud product is priced by conversions, not by seats. MoneyThumb's rule is that each account on each monthly statement counts as one conversion, and reconverting the same file only counts once. Unused conversions roll over when a subscription renews, and the yearly plans hand you the full year of conversions up front. MoneyThumb says the yearly plans save 33% against paying month to month.

Two rows in the full price table below surprise people. The smallest yearly plan, 25 conversions for $124.95, costs more per conversion than the $24.95 monthly plan, so it only makes sense if you want a year of access without a monthly charge. And the per-conversion price falls steeply with volume: a bookkeeper who buys 800 a year pays a dollar each, while someone on the five-a-month plan pays almost five.

MoneyThumb's strength is breadth. The QuickBooks converter reads PDF, OFX, CSV, QFX and QIF, uses its own OCR for scanned statements, and runs an auto-balance check against the statement totals. If your work is mostly paper or PDF bank statements, that breadth is what you are paying for, and nothing on this site replaces it. QIFQBO reads only QIF files.

The comparison changes when every file you hold is a Quicken QIF export. That is the usual situation for someone leaving Quicken for QuickBooks, or for a bookkeeper whose client sends a QIF every month. Here is what the same volume costs on each side, using MoneyThumb's published plans and our own QIF to QBO converter pricing.

Read the table honestly and MoneyThumb wins the smallest job: five files once, at $24.95, is cheaper than a month of our Starter plan, and if any of those files is a PDF we cannot read it at all. From roughly 20 QIF files a month upward the math flips, because our plans count files rather than statement months and the Starter tier includes 100 a month.

One caution on that comparison. MoneyThumb's counting rule is written for monthly bank statements. A Quicken QIF export that holds three years of one checking account is not a monthly statement, and the product page does not say how it is counted. Ask MoneyThumb before you buy the five-conversion tier for a multi-year Quicken history, because 36 statement months would use up a small plan quickly.

A real .qbo file QuickBooks accepts

Built for the QIF files Quicken and finance tools actually export, checked before it exports.

Reconciliation

Every total checked against your file

The converter adds up the transactions it parsed and matches that to your file total before you export, so nothing is silently dropped.

Web Connect

A genuine .qbo, not a renamed QIF

Valid OFX 1.02 with QuickBooks Web Connect headers. Online and Desktop import it as a standard bank feed.

QIF tags

Your QIF tags read for you

Date, payee, and amount are read straight from the QIF tags, so there is nothing to map and no layout to match.

Volume

A year of QIF files in one batch

Bulk upload for catch-up and cleanup work. Each file gets its own reconciliation check and its own exports.

Dates and amounts

Dates and amounts fixed for you

Mixed date formats, apostrophe years, currency symbols, and split lines in a QIF are cleaned up and summed before the .qbo is built.

Exports

Excel and CSV in the same download

One conversion, three files: the .qbo for QuickBooks, an XLSX to review, and a CSV for everything else.

How to convert your QIF to QuickBooks

Three steps. No column-mapping wizard.

1

Upload your QIF file

Drag in a .qif export from Quicken, your bank, or another finance tool. Any QIF type works.

2

Review the reconciled rows

Every transaction is parsed and checked against your file total. You see the rows before exporting.

3

Import into QuickBooks

Download the .qbo and import it as a Web Connect bank feed. Excel and CSV are in the same download.

How much does MoneyThumb cost?

MoneyThumb Online for QuickBooks costs $24.95 a month for 5 conversions, $49.95 a month for 20 and $99.95 a month for 60. Yearly plans are $124.95 for 25, $199.95 for 60, $399.95 for 240 and $799.95 for 800 conversions. Auto-refill plans for high volume cost $1,199.95, $2,199.95 or $3,999.95 a year for 1,500, 3,000 or 6,000 conversions.

Those are the same price points MoneyThumb uses for its Quicken, spreadsheet and general accounting cloud converters, so the number does not change much with the destination. The PDF+ AddOn that adds scanned-document OCR for desktop license holders is $199.95 and renews yearly.

How much is 2qbo Convert Pro?

MoneyThumb no longer shows a price for the desktop 2qbo Convert Pro on its QuickBooks converter pages, and the old product listing now returns a page-not-found error. Older listings quoted $599.95 to $699.95 for Pro and Pro+. If you specifically want the desktop edition, request a quote from MoneyThumb; otherwise the cloud plans above are what it sells for QuickBooks.

The license options MoneyThumb still describes for its desktop Pro+ line are a lifetime license with one year of PDF+, a lifetime license without PDF+, and a 50-day Express license that includes PDF+, each marked "Currently Windows only". If a reseller or an old blog post quotes you a desktop price, confirm it with MoneyThumb before paying.

Is MoneyThumb a one time purchase?

The cloud product is not. MoneyThumb Online is a subscription that renews monthly or yearly, or refills automatically when you run low. The desktop converters were sold as lifetime licenses per user, installable on up to three computers for that one person, with updates included; only the PDF+ AddOn renews each year.

That difference matters for a migration. A move from Quicken to QuickBooks has an end date, so a monthly plan you cancel afterwards is usually cheaper than a yearly one, even though the yearly price per conversion is lower.

Does MoneyThumb have a free trial?

Yes. The MoneyThumb Online product page has a "Try it for free" option, and MoneyThumb's FAQ says its desktop trial reads the whole file but writes only the first 10 transactions to the output (5 for CSV input). That is enough to see whether your file is read correctly, not enough to import a real history.

Our own demo works the same way in spirit: three conversions with no account and three more once you create one, each capped at 100 transactions per file. Upload a QIF to the converter at the top of this page and you will see the parsed rows and the reconciled totals before you pay for anything.

Does MoneyThumb convert QIF to QBO?

Yes. MoneyThumb's QuickBooks converter lists QIF among the formats it brings into QuickBooks, along with PDF, OFX, CSV and QFX, and it writes a .qbo Web Connect file or sends the transactions straight to QuickBooks Online. You pay its per-conversion price whether the source is a PDF or a QIF.

If QIF is the only format you ever handle, you are paying for PDF and OCR capability you will not use. A dedicated QIF to QBO converter prices the job by file and adds nothing you do not need.

Which QuickBooks versions accept MoneyThumb .qbo files?

MoneyThumb says its .qbo files import into every QuickBooks Online edition except Self Employed, and into QuickBooks Desktop versions from 2023 to 2025. Its FAQ adds that the files are readable by all non-expired QuickBooks Desktop versions. Expired desktop versions lose Web Connect import entirely, whichever converter made the file.

Our files follow the same Web Connect format. QuickBooks Online takes them under Bank transactions, Upload from file, and QuickBooks Desktop takes them through File, Utilities, Import, Web Connect Files. The step by step routes are on QIF to QuickBooks Online and QIF to QuickBooks Desktop.

Does MoneyThumb work on a Mac?

The cloud version does, because it runs in any modern browser. MoneyThumb's FAQ says its desktop software installs on Windows or Mac, but the desktop Pro+ license options are marked "Currently Windows only". If you are on a Mac and want MoneyThumb, buy the cloud plan rather than a desktop license.

Is the yearly MoneyThumb plan cheaper than monthly?

Only at the right size. The yearly 60 plan at $199.95 is cheaper than paying $24.95 for twelve months, and the yearly 800 plan brings each conversion to $1.00. The yearly 25 plan, at $124.95, works out to $5.00 a conversion, slightly more than the $4.99 on the monthly five-pack, so choose it only to avoid a monthly charge.

Is MoneyThumb worth it for a Quicken to QuickBooks migration?

It can be, if part of your history only exists as PDF statements, because MoneyThumb reads those and we do not. If the history comes out of Quicken for Windows as QIF files, a QIF-only converter is usually cheaper and simpler: you convert each account's export once, check the totals, and import the .qbo files into the new company.

Plan the export before you choose a tool. Quicken for Windows exports QIF per account; Quicken for Mac has no QIF export, so Mac users need another route. Our guide to converting Quicken to QuickBooks covers both cases, and the bulk QIF to QBO converter page shows how to run a whole set of account files in one batch.

What is the best MoneyThumb alternative for QIF files?

For QIF files going into QuickBooks, the best MoneyThumb alternative is a converter built only for QIF, because you pay per file instead of per statement month and skip the PDF features you will not use. QIFQBO reads the QIF, reconciles every total against the file, and returns a Web Connect .qbo that QuickBooks Online and Desktop import.

For PDF statements, MoneyThumb remains a strong choice, and the fair comparison is against other PDF converters, not against us. Our MoneyThumb alternative page compares the two converters feature by feature, and the ProperSoft alternative and Zed Axis pricing pages price the other desktop tools bookkeepers often consider.

Who should pay for MoneyThumb, and who should not?

Pay for MoneyThumb if your clients hand you PDF or scanned bank statements, if you need OFX or CSV inputs alongside QIF, or if your volume is a handful of statements a month and the $24.95 plan covers it. Its auto-balance check and OCR are genuine reasons to choose it.

Skip it if every file you hold is a Quicken QIF export, if a multi-year history might count as dozens of statement conversions, or if you run 20 or more QIF files a month and would rather pay a flat rate for 100. In those cases, run your own file through the converter at the top of this page and compare the result before you buy either.
