Transaction Pro pricing from Rightworks: QuickBooks Online plans $13 to $61 a month, Desktop $199 or $299 once, the $99 support fee, and QIF file costs.

Transaction Pro for QuickBooks Online costs $13 a month (Essentials), $39 (Growth) or $61 (Premium), or $120, $350 and $570 a year on annual billing. Transaction Pro for QuickBooks Desktop is a one-time license: $199 per user for the Importer, $299 per user for the Importer, Exporter and Deleter PRO bundle, with email support included for the first year and $99 a year after that.
Those are the prices on Rightworks' own Transaction Pro pricing page, read in October 2026. Rightworks bought Transaction Pro and now sells it under its own name, so most of the numbers you see on software directories are out of date. Capterra and GetApp still show $10, $30 and $50 a month for the online plans, which is not what checkout charges. Below is the full price list, what a realistic first year costs for the jobs people actually buy it for, and the one job it does not do at any price: loading a Quicken QIF file into QuickBooks Online.
Every online plan includes unlimited users, the admin portal, online chat, phone and email support, and version updates while the subscription is active. QIFQBO is in the last row because it is what many people pricing Transaction Pro actually need: their file is a Quicken QIF export, and the cheapest correct route into QuickBooks Online is a .qbo Web Connect file, not a row importer.

Built for the QIF files Quicken and finance tools actually export, checked before it exports.
The converter adds up the transactions it parsed and matches that to your file total before you export, so nothing is silently dropped.
Valid OFX 1.02 with QuickBooks Web Connect headers. Online and Desktop import it as a standard bank feed.
Date, payee, and amount are read straight from the QIF tags, so there is nothing to map and no layout to match.
Bulk upload for catch-up and cleanup work. Each file gets its own reconciliation check and its own exports.
Mixed date formats, apostrophe years, currency symbols, and split lines in a QIF are cleaned up and summed before the .qbo is built.
One conversion, three files: the .qbo for QuickBooks, an XLSX to review, and a CSV for everything else.
Three steps. No column-mapping wizard.
Drag in a .qif export from Quicken, your bank, or another finance tool. Any QIF type works.
Every transaction is parsed and checked against your file total. You see the rows before exporting.
Download the .qbo and import it as a Web Connect bank feed. Excel and CSV are in the same download.

Transaction Pro costs $13 to $61 a month for QuickBooks Online, or $120 to $570 a year if you pay annually. The QuickBooks Desktop edition is a one-time $199 per user for the Importer or $299 per user for the PRO bundle. Sales tax is extra where it applies, and the desktop license adds $99 a year if you want email support after the first year.
The tier that matters for most single company buyers is Growth. Essentials looks cheap at $13, but its 200 rows a month cover roughly one busy month of one checking account. Anyone loading a year of history, or posting invoices in bulk, hits that ceiling on day one and upgrades.
Transaction Pro for QuickBooks Online is $13 a month for Essentials (one company, 200 imported rows a month), $39 a month for Growth (three companies, unlimited import, export and delete) and $61 a month for Premium (five companies). Annual billing brings those to $120, $350 and $570, which saves $36, $118 and $162 a year compared with paying monthly.
The online edition reads Excel and CSV files and pushes the rows into QuickBooks Online through Intuit's API, so it is strong at creating invoices, bills, checks, journal entries and customer lists in bulk. It does not open a .qif file, which we cover in detail further down.
Only the QuickBooks Desktop edition. The Importer ($199) and the PRO bundle ($299) are one-time fees per user with unlimited company files, and the software keeps working after the first year. What expires is email support, which Rightworks renews at $99 a year. The QuickBooks Online edition is a subscription, monthly or annual, and stops working when it lapses.
So a desktop user who wants support for three years pays $199 plus $99 plus $99, or $397, for the Importer, and $497 for PRO. That is still cheaper over three years than most annual QuickBooks import utilities, which is why Transaction Pro remains a sensible buy for QuickBooks Desktop shops that import spreadsheets every month.
The sticker price depends on the plan; the real cost depends on the job. These are the scenarios we see most often, priced from the vendor's list.
| Job | Transaction Pro route | Cost | Cheaper fit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Move two years of Quicken checking history into QuickBooks Online | Cannot read QIF. Convert to CSV elsewhere first, then Growth for one month | $39 plus the CSV step | QIFQBO Starter for one month, $49, writes a .qbo bank file directly |
| Monthly spreadsheet of invoices into one QuickBooks Online company | Growth, annual | $350 a year | Transaction Pro is a good fit here; SaasAnt Growth is $250 a year |
| Five client companies, ongoing imports | Premium, annual | $570 a year | Transaction Pro Premium is fair value for a small firm |
| QuickBooks Desktop, spreadsheet imports every month, three years with support | Importer only | $397 over three years | Hard to beat; Zed Axis Import alone is $155 a year |
| Quicken QIF banking file into QuickBooks Desktop on Windows | Desktop Importer, QIF banking data | $199 | Either works; a converter avoids a per-user license for a one-off job |
| Quicken QIF file into QuickBooks on a Mac | No route; the desktop edition is Windows only and the online edition skips QIF | n/a | QIFQBO in the browser |
The pattern is simple. Transaction Pro earns its price when the source is a spreadsheet and the job repeats every month. It is poor value when the job is a one-time move off Quicken, because you pay for a row importer and still have to turn the QIF into something it can read.
Only the QuickBooks Desktop edition does, and only for banking data. Rightworks lists the desktop formats as Excel, TXT and CSV, Quicken QIF (banking data only), Microsoft Money OFX (banking data only), Access databases and ODBC sources such as SQL. Transaction Pro for QuickBooks Online reads Excel and CSV, so a .qif file will not load there on any plan.
This is the most expensive mistake people make with the product. The two editions share a name, someone leaving Quicken reads that Transaction Pro imports QIF, subscribes to the online plan, and finds the upload screen refuses the file. If your books are in QuickBooks Online, the file QuickBooks itself recommends on its bank upload screen is a .qbo Web Connect file, and that is exactly what our QIF to QBO converter produces. Upload the QIF, check that the opening balance and the debit and credit totals reconcile, and import the result into the bank account in QuickBooks Online.
For QuickBooks Desktop, yes over any period longer than about a year. Zed Axis desktop is an annual license at $155 (Import), $255 (Import and Export) or $350 (with automation), while Transaction Pro desktop is $199 or $299 once plus an optional $99 a year for support. For QuickBooks Online, Zed's Axis Online runs $119.40 to $599.40 a year, close to Transaction Pro's $120 to $570.
The two also differ on files. Zed Axis desktop reads QIF, QBO, QFX and OFX bank statements into QuickBooks Desktop, while Axis Online lists Excel, text and IIF only. We keep the full breakdown on the Zed Axis pricing page.
On QuickBooks Online the entry price is lower but the useful tier is not. Transaction Pro Essentials is $13 a month against SaasAnt Growth at $25, yet Essentials stops at 200 rows; Transaction Pro Growth at $39 a month or $350 a year is the fair comparison, and SaasAnt Growth is $25 a month or $250 a year. On QuickBooks Desktop, Transaction Pro's one-time $199 beats SaasAnt's $125 to $299 yearly licenses after the second year.
One policy difference matters if you are unsure: SaasAnt says plainly that it does not offer refunds, so its 30 day trial is the only safety net. The SaasAnt pricing page lists every SaasAnt tier, and SaasAnt vs Transaction Pro compares the two products feature by feature.
Because the directory listings were written before Rightworks repriced the product. Capterra and GetApp still show the online plans at $10, $30 and $50 a month and $99, $299 and $499 a year, and Software Advice describes the desktop prices without the $99 support renewal. Rightworks' own page currently charges $13, $39 and $61 a month, or $120, $350 and $570 a year.
The old transactionpro.com address now redirects to rightworks.com, and the pricing, product and support pages all live there. If you are budgeting from a review or a directory, check the date and confirm on the vendor page before you buy.
The Importer ($199) only brings data into QuickBooks Desktop. The Importer / Exporter / Deleter PRO bundle ($299) adds exporting records out of QuickBooks to Excel or text and bulk deleting records, which accountants use for cleanup and for undoing a bad import. Both licenses cover unlimited company files, unlimited records, chat and phone support, and one year of email support.
If you have ever had to reverse a 600 row import by hand, the extra $100 for the Deleter pays for itself the first time. If you only import, the Importer is enough.
No. Transaction Pro for QuickBooks Desktop is a Windows program built for QuickBooks Pro, Premier and Enterprise on Windows, and QuickBooks for Mac has no interface for third party importers. Mac users can run Transaction Pro for QuickBooks Online in a browser, but that is the edition that reads Excel and CSV only, not QIF.
For a Mac user with a Quicken file, that leaves one practical path: convert the QIF to .qbo in the browser and import it into QuickBooks Online or QuickBooks for Mac through the normal bank file import.
Software directories list a free trial for Transaction Pro and no free version. The Rightworks pricing page itself shows only Buy Now buttons and does not publish trial terms, so ask sales (888.417.4448) for the current trial length before you commit. Whatever you test, test it with your real file, because odd dates, splits and memo fields are what break imports.
With QIFQBO you can preview a conversion of your own QIF with no account, and the demo in a new account converts three files of up to 100 transactions each, enough to import a real month into QuickBooks and check that it reconciles before you pay for a plan.
For a QuickBooks Desktop user importing spreadsheets every month, yes: $199 once is among the best value prices in the category. For a firm with several QuickBooks Online clients, Growth or Premium is fair. For a one-time move from Quicken to QuickBooks Online it is the wrong tool, because the online edition cannot read the QIF you are holding.
The quickest test is to name the file. If it ends in .xlsx or .csv and you will import it again next month, Transaction Pro is a reasonable buy. If it ends in .qif, convert it to .qbo instead and spend the money on the month you need it.
QIFQBO Starter is $49 a month, or $294 a year billed annually, for 100 conversions a month, and you can cancel after the month you need. Plus is $149 a month for 500 conversions, and Pro is $499 a month with unlimited conversions and API access for firms. Every plan writes .qbo, and paid plans add Excel and CSV exports of the same data.
Upload a QIF export, get a QuickBooks-ready .qbo back in seconds. No card to try it.
For one person leaving Quicken, a single month of Starter covers every account they own. For a bookkeeper converting client files, the bulk QIF to QBO converter page explains batch conversion, and Transaction Pro Importer alternative compares what each tool reads and writes in more depth.
